Silver Lake
Our stay at the Homewood Suites was now over and we were moving to an Airbnb in Lucas’ neck of the woods. Since we had some time to kill in between checkout and check-in, we decided to visit Silver Lake in the Wasatch Mountains near Brighton.
The lake is gorgeous; looking at it made me feel as if I was in the Swiss Alps.
The road there follows the valley floor between a series of mountains. With the bright fall colors it makes for a very scenic drive. We took the roof off the Jeep to get the full effect.
There’s no need to get out of the Jeep when you pull over; just stand up through the open roof and snap some pictures.
The mountains are so tall next to you that you can photograph them through the roof!
The lake itself has a trail that circles it, parts of which have boardwalks. It is currently the low-water season, but I imagine much of this fills up with water in the spring.
The lake provides some nice reflections.
