Dragonfly

I saw this dragonfly on the lilac bush outside. He was nice enough to stay put while I ran and got my camera.

Dragonflies are great to have around, as they eat mosquitoes. They are actually fine-tuned mosquito-hunting machines. In addition, they are a marvel to look at, filled with such intricate detail. It had recently rained, and the wings on this dragonfly have just a couple of tiny drops of water still on it. I find the structure of the delicate, many-faceted wings spellbinding.
